PGY- 1 Year
One Session in Family Practice Center for ½ day per week * (longitudinal behavioral science and community medicine)

  • General Surgery, Inpatient: 1 month
  • Obstetrics, Lankenau Hospital**:  1 month
  • NICU:  2 weeks 
  • Pediatrics**, inpatient:  2 months 
  • Orthopedics:  1 month (140 hrs) 
  • CCU:  1 month 
  • ICU**:  1 month
  • Adult Medicine**:  4 months 
  • Family Practice Center:  2 weeks 

* NOTE: FPC half days are the minimum requirement
** NOTE: No vacation permitted on this rotation

PGY- 2 year
Two Sessions in Family Practice Center for ½ day per week* (longitudinal behavioral science and community medicine)

  • Urology:  2 weeks (60 hrs) 
  • ENT:  2 weeks (60 hrs) 
  • Ophthalmology:  2 weeks (60 hrs) 
  • Radiology:  2 weeks (60 hrs) 
  • Gynecology**:  1 month (140 hours) 
  • Obstetrics at BMH**:  2 months 
  • Surgery, outpatient:  1 month 
  • Emergency Medicine:  1 month 
  • FP Chief:  1 month 
  • Pediatrics, outpatient:  1 month 
  • Cardiology:  1 month 
  • Adult Medicine:  1 month 
  • Psychiatry (Outpt. Sites):  1 month

PGY- 3 year
Three Sessions in Family Practice Center for ½ day per week* (longitudinal behavioral science and community medicine).

  • Adult Medicine:  1 month  
  • FP Chief:  1 month  
  • Endocrinology  1 month  
  • Pediatrics, outpatient:  1 month  
  • Obstetrics:  1 month  
  • GI/Community Medicine  1 month (2 wks. each)  
  • Elective:  4 months  
  • Neurology:  1 month  
  • Dermatology:  1 month 

Other Curricular Elements Include:

  • Community medicine site visits and workshops
  • Behavioral science Balint Group
  • Longitudinal Obstetrics experience
  • Research workshops, grand rounds and morning reports
  • On Call responsibilities
  • Videotape reviews of FPC encounters
  • Practice management lectures, workshops, and practical exercises
  • Other curricular elements as required by RRC
  • Participation in FPC/ Residency Program Teams
  • Resident Thursday lecture series
  • Journal Club
  • Office Surgery, including flexible sigmoidoscopy, nasolargyngoscopy, and colposcopy
