Services...

  • Critical Care: Critical care nursing at Main Line Health offers a broad range of challenging and rewarding opportunities, including Intensive Care, Cardiothoracic Intensive Care, and Coronary Care. Our hospital offers these progresive care units: Medical, Surgical, Cardiothoracic and Respiratory. The Critical Care Team has helped make the Main Line Health Heart Center the region's premier innovative cardiac program. We provide an individualized orientation for both new graduates and experienced nurses, including a comprehensive Critical Care Class.
  • Emergency Service: Across Main Line Health, our newly renovated Emergency Departments offer prompt and timely treatment for a wide range of medical, surgical and psychiatric emergencies for roughly 95,000 patients a year. Bryn Mawr Hospital also provides an attractive pediatric fast track option. With over 100 talented nurses, we offer a dynamic environment that welcomes new ideas and innovations. Our RN staff is ACLS-certified and many have attained their CEN.
  • Cardiac Cath Lab: Each year, the Main Line Health Heart Center performs more than 5,500 invasive cardiac cath procedures and more than 1,500 electrophysicology procedures. Main Line Health has the area's most sophisticated and technologically advanced cardiology and eletrophysiology equipment. Our cardiologists are at the forefront of medical research, pioneering new techniques to help avoid open heart surgery and to treat arrhythmias.
  • Medical Surgical Specialty: The Medical Surgical specialty offers a variety of acute care experiences and many nurses obtain specialty certification through MLH support.
  • MLH's Oncology units provide state-of-the-art medical, surgical and radiation cancer treatments. Staff RNs receive oncology educational and chemotherapy certification. Because Bryn Mawr, Lankenau and Paoli Hospitals are CCOP centers, patients may also participate in clinical trials.
  • Nurses at our hospitals' Orthopedic Centers are involved in the most up-to-date surgical interventions for musculosketal and joint problems. Nurses benefit from a comprehensive orthopedic course.
  • The surgical specialty at Bryn Mawr, Lankenau and Paoli Hospitals offers the latest advances, such as minimally invasive surgical procedures. Registered nurses provide comprehensive teaching and are involved in identifying the multidisciplinary discharge plan for the surgical post-operative patient. Many of the staff have attained Med/Surg certification and attend advanced updates annually.
  • Psychiatric Services: Our Inpatient Psychiatric Unit offers private psychiatric treatment in a secure, comfortable setting. This acute care facility serves patients age 14 or older with diverse psychiatric disorders through a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, registered nurses, mental health workers, social workers and therapists. The unit at Bryn Mawr Hospital is supported by the Central Intake Center and the Crisis Intervention Specialists. We also offer partial day treatment psychiatric programs through our American Day Treatment Centers in Drexel Hill and Exton, PA.
  • Surgical Services: Main Line Health operating rooms are on the leading edge of technology. We provide excellence with expert caregivers in the following service areas: General, Vascular/Cardiothoracic, Plastics, Neurology, Urology, Gynecology, Ortho, ENT, Colorectal Surgery and Opthalmology. As well our Main Line Health Centers provide a variety of surgical services on an outpatient basis.
  • Women's and Children's Services: We support a Family Centered Maternity Nursing philosophy that supports the entire family as they adapt to the birth of the newest family member. With over 5,500 births annually, our system offers a full range of obstetrical and neonatal care. Our pediatric unit at Bryn Mawr Hospital is affiliated with the renowned Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children and provides care and educational support to young patients and their families. Lankenau and Bryn Mawr Hospitals have Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Units that care for premature or ill newborns, and Paoli Hospital offers a Labor/Delivery Recovery/Postpartum model with a Level II+ Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.


Staffing Options...

  • Full-time and Part-time: Positions are available with 4-, 8- and 12-hour shifts in many clinical specialties.
  • Weekend Program: Nurses utilize their nursing skills and earn premium pay by working weekends. These 8- or 12-hour shift positions require scheduling 2,3, or 4 weekends out of each 4-week period. Beyond the weekends, nurses can work additional hours at our competitive per diem rates. Nurses that work 3 and 4 weekends out of each 4-week period are eligible for medical, dental and vision benefits and tuition.
  • Per Diem: Main Line Health unit, hospital-based and resource per diem programs promote both personal and professional goals. The environment allows nurses to use their skills and earn premium pay while maintaining flexible schedules in the setting they are most comfortable in.
  • Resource: Offers FT & PT benefit eligible positions with pay incentives to work across Main Line Health's three acute care hospitals in your clinical specialty.
  • Professional Nurse Internships: New graduates can transition to their profession and gain valuable full-time experiences in most clinical specialties. These evening and night shift positions offer a comprehensive benefits package, competitive pay and shift differential. Main Line Health offers all new graduates a precepted orientation which is based on the clinical specialty and the individual learning needs of the new graduate. On-going supervised training and educational opportunities are provided to the staff during this transition and after orientation.
  • Professional Nurse Externship: Nursing students who have completed at least one clinical rotation will enjoy gaining patient care experience through this program. Part-time rotating schedules are avilable on all shifts with flexibility to meet your needs. Positions are available in most clinical specialties. These are exceptional opportunities to prepare for the clinical setting after graduation.
