Baby's Photograph All babies will have their photographs taken by an independent photographer contracted by the hospital. The photographer will
visit every patient to review information and options for purchasing. There is no obligation to purchase the photo of your
baby. Please contact you nurse with any questions.
Newborn Nursery After delivery, your baby will be carefully observed and will be placed under a warmer to stabilize body temperature. This
is standard procedure for newborns. The nursing staff will review newborn plan of care. You may visit nursery to get your
baby at any time.
Rooming In Infants usually room in with their mothers during day and evening hours. If you are feeling ill or need to leave your room
for any reason, please ask that your baby be taken back to the Nursery. You may request 24-hour rooming in, if desired.
Infant Security For your baby's protection is it important that we know who is visiting and where your baby is at all times. Various security
measures are in place at our hospitals to insure the safety of your baby. The nursing staff will review all safety procedures
with you. Do not allow anyone without identification to take your baby from the hospital room.
Birth Certificates During your stay you will be asked to complete the forms required by the State for your baby's birth certificate, social security
number, and Paternity. The birth certificate issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will be mailed to you at a later date.
It usually requires 4-6 weeks to process birth certificates and social security numbers.
