Visiting Hours

Please ask your visitors to adhere to our visiting hours and to observe the following:
  • Refrain from loud conversation.
  • Please leave the room quietly when asked.
  • No more than two visitors at a time unless unit activity or patient's condition will permit  additional visitors.
  • Try to keep visits to about 15 minutes.
  • Visitors are asked not to sit on empty patient beds.
  • Children under 14 are not permitted on patient floors without close supervision.
  • Please ask your family and friends not to visit if they have a cold, flu-like symptoms or any other  communicable disease, no matter how mild those symptoms may seem.

Medical/Surgical Units
11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Parents of children and adolescent patients may visit 24 hours; others may visit with permission of the parents from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily.

Sun Room (Family Waiting Area)
The Sun Room is located on the fourth floor between the Pew and Rosengarten buildings, adjacent to the elevator lobby. It is an area where families may wait for information concerning surgical patients and those in the intensive care units (ICUs) and where physicians can communicate directly with the family. Family members may leave a home telephone or cell phone number or hospital extension at the Sun Room Information desk, which is staffed by volunteers from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Families of surgical patients will be notified of a patient's arrival in the PACU (recovery room). Volunteers also provide coffee and tea. For more information about the ICUs, refer to the "Information Guide for the Patients and Visitors of the Critical Care Units."

Intensive Care Units
Two adult visitors at a time; limited to 30 minute periods four times per day at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.  If unit activity or patient's condition will permit, visiting hours may be extended.

Mother/Baby Unit
Fathers: 24 hours
Grandparents, Siblings and other visitors: 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Parents, grandparents:  24 hours, except at shift change and on Tuesday mornings from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Siblings:  4 p.m. to 8 p.m. while mother is a patient in the hospital; afterward, on Saturdays and Sundays.
Other visitors must be accompanied by a parent, and must be 16 years of age or older.
