Electrophysiologists at the Lankenau Heart Group use ambulatory cardiac
ECG to document cardiac rhythm during an episode of palpitations, if
this can’t be done through standard ECG. Ambulatory ECG is used to
monitor heart rhythm when symptoms occur or for long periods of time.
These devices can be external (i.e. Holter recorders, event recorders,
external loop recorders, and outpatient telemetry) or implanted (i.e.
pacemakers, implantable loop recorders and implantable cardiac devices
with diagnostic features).
