With The Guidelines® 2013—Gold Plus American Heart Association/American Stroke Association
The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recognize
Riddle Hospital for achieving 85% or higher adherence to all Get With
the Guidelines® Stroke Performance Achievement Indicators for
consecutive 12 month intervals and 75% or higher compliance with 6 of 10
Get With the Guidelines® Stroke Quality Measures to improve quality of
patient care and outcomes in addition to achieving IV rt-PA door to
needle time ≤ 60 minutes in 50% or more applicable acute ischemic stroke
patients (minimum of 6) during one calendar year. Riddle Hospital
also received AHA Target Stroke Recognition.
Hospital was named a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® by The
Joint Commission for the third year. The hospitals are being
recognized for exemplary performance in using evidence-based clinical
processes that are shown to improve care for heart attack, heart
failure, pneumonia and surgical care.
Chest Pain Center by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care
Riddle Hospital is recognized for achieving a higher level of expertise
in dealing with patients who arrive with symptoms of a heart attack.
Accreditation brings together diverse medical specialties, such as EMS,
emergency medicine, and cardiology; clinicians and administrators;
doctors and nurses; lawyers; architects and quality improvement
professionals. It improves the clinical processes for the early
assessment, diagnosis and treatment of ACS and HF within facilities.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Program certified by the American Association of
Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
RIddle Hospital was recognized for its commitment to improving the
quality of life by enhancing standards of care by the American
Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACRP).
AACRP is a multidisciplinary organization dedicated to the mission of
reducing morbidity, mortality and disability from cardiovascular and
pulmonary disease through education, prevention, rehabilitation,
research and disease management.
Target: Stroke Honor Roll
Riddle Hospital has also been recognized as a recipient of the
association’s Target: Stroke Honor Roll, for improving stroke care. Over
the past quarter, at least 50 percent of the hospital’s eligible
ischemic stroke patients have received tissue plasminogen activator, or
tPA, within 60 minutes of arriving at the hospital (known as
‘door-to-needle’ time). A thrombolytic, or clot-busting agent, tPA is
the only drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the
urgent treatment of ischemic stroke. If given intravenously in the first
three hours after the start of stroke symptoms, tPA has been shown to
significantly reverse the effects of stroke and reduce permanent
