Riddle Memorial Hospital is pleased to offer a program designed to help members of the community gain better management of their diabetes. This program has been recognized as having met National Standards for Patient Education in Diabetes from the American Association of Diabetes Educators.

Riddle's 2012 Diabetes program is presented by a professional health care team of:
-Certified Diabetes Nurse Educator
-Registered Dietitian
-Podiatrist
-Pharmacist
-Exercise Physiologist

Patients receive:
-Individualized meal plan
-Nutrition education focusing on blood sugar and cholesterol management
-Instruction in blood glucose monitoring
-Basic knowledge of diabetes self-management skills

The cost for the classes is covered by most insurance, including Medicare, Blue Cross, Keystone, US Healthcare and many private insurance carriers. A referral or prescription may be required. (Please check with your individual insurance company.) Family members are encouraged to attend free of
charge.

Diabetes Day Program: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Each monthly program is comprised of three classes.
