DESCRIPTION:This one-day childbirth preparation class is an alternative for
	 couples\nwho are unable to attend the three-week series due to time constr
	aints\nor fluctuating schedules. The content is the same as the Prepared\nC
	hildbirth Series but taught in an accelerated fashion. A tour of the\nMater
	nity Unit is included. It is offered to couples expecting their\nfirst baby
	 or couples who have never attended childbirth classes.\nClasses focus on b
	oth the physical and emotional aspects of labor and\ndelivery\, with emphas
	is on breathing and relaxation techniques. The\ninstructor will discuss: th
	e natural progression of labor and delivery\;\ncoping strategies for labor\
	, including medication and anesthesia\noptions\; the role of support person
	\; and the possibility of cesarean\nbirth. A tour of the Maternity Unit wil
	l be provided. \n\nClass size is limited so please register early. Lunch is
	 on your own and\nnot included in the registration fee. (Lunch can be purch
	ased in the\nhospital cafeteria if desired.) Please bring (2) pillows with
