Autologous Blood Donation
If you wish to use your own blood for upcoming surgery-related
transfusions, the American Red Cross offers the option of autologous
blood donations. The procedure is an option only for elective surgery.
All donors must meet American Red Cross medical criteria. A physician’s
written prescription is required for autologous donations. Ask your
surgeon for more information, or call 1-800-35-BLOOD.
