Beacon Silver Award for Excellence in Critical Care
Mawr Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is one of only five hospital
units in Pennsylvania to receive the American Association of
Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) 2013 silver-level Beacon Award for
Accreditation as a Chest Pain Center
Mawr earned the accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient
Care for demonstrating a higher level of expertise in the assessment,
diagnosis and treatment of patients who may be experiencing a heart
Independence Blue Cross Blue Distinction Center
Blue Cross has named Bryn Mawr Hospital as a Blue Distinction Center in Knee
and Hip Replacement and Cardiac Care. The Blue Distinction
Centers for Specialty Care® program is a national designation awarded by
Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies to medical facilities that have
demonstrated expertise in delivering quality specialty care—which
expanded recently to include more robust quality measures focused on
improved patient health and safety.
2014 Mission: Lifeline—Silver Receiving
American Heart Association recognizes Bryn Mawr Hospital with a silver
award for achieving 85 percent or higher composite adherence to all
Mission: Lifeline STEMI Receiving Center Performance Achievement
indicators for consecutive 12-month intervals, 75 percent or higher
compliance on all Mission: Lifeline STEMI Receiving Center quality
measures, and First-Door-to-Device time of 120 minutes or less for
transfers, to improve the quality of care for STEMI patients.
The Joint Commission “Gold Seal of Approval”
Bryn Mawr Hospital was named a Top Performer on Key Quality
Measures® by The Joint Commission for the second year. The
hospitals are being recognized for exemplary performance in
using evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to
improve care for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and
Mawr Hospital has been ranked among the top hospitals in the
Philadelphia region by U.S. News & World Report in the
following areas: Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, Geriatrics,
Orthopedics and Urology.
Mawr Hospital earned distinction in Heart Failure in the first ever U.S.
News & World Report “Best Hospitals for Common Care” ratings.
