Kickoff Event at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital Marks Beginning Of Brain Injury Unit Expansion and Renovation Project

(MALVERN, PA; April 2006) -- About 125 friends of Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital gathered March 22, 2006 to celebrate the beginning of construction to expand and renovate the hospital's Brain Injury Unit.  The $2.9-million project, which is expected to be completed early next year, is taking place on the second floor in the Maple and Dogwood Units.  A $1-million fundraising campaign has already reached $625,000.

Gathering to plant a dogwood tree in the hospital's courtyard to commemorate the project are (from left) Rosadele Plumari, Director of Admissions and Case Management; Jack Lynch, Main Line Health President and CEO; Larry Wexler, a former patient and a Campaign Committee member; and Campaign Co-Chairmen David N. Horwich, M.D., Chief of Internal Medicine, and David F. Long, M.D., Medical Director of the Brain Injury Program.

Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital --  located in the Philadelphia suburb of Malvern, PA -- is a 151-bed hospital offering acute inpatient care, outpatient programs and day treatment programs for adults and adolescents with brain injuries, stroke, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, chronic pain and orthopedic injuries.
