Visiting Hours

Please ask your visitors to adhere to our visiting hours and to observe the following:

  • Refrain from loud conversation.
  • Please leave the room quietly when asked.
  • No more than two visitors at a time.
  • Try to keep visits to about 15 minutes.
  • Visitors are asked not to sit on empty patient beds.
  • Children under 12 are not permitted on patient floors without close supervision.
  • Please ask your family and friends not to visit if they have a cold, flu-like symptoms or any other communicable disease, no matter how mild those symptoms may seem.

Main Hospital
11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Green Room (Family Waiting Area)
Located near the Operating Suite, the Green Room at Bryn Mawr Hospital is a place for families to wait while patients are in the Operating Suite. After surgery, the surgeons often meet families in the Green Room to advise them of the status of their family member. Coffee and tea are available for waiting families. A volunteer also is available from 8 a.m.
to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to help keep family members informed.

Intensive Care
Visitors are limited to your immediate family, two visitors for five minutes at a time. Flowers and cards may not be placed at the patient's bedside.

Coronary Care Unit
8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Visitors are limited to two persons at a time for short intervals. To assure that patients receive adequate rest and care, visitors may be restricted at various times throughout the day.

Maternity
General visiting hours are from 11 am to 8 pm.  Father of the baby or significant other may visit 24 hours. Grandparents may visit from 7 am to 8 pm. No children under the age of 12 will be admitted to the unit, unless they are the siblings of the baby.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Parents may visit 24 hours a day. Others must be accompanied by a parent and may visit from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pediatric Department
Parents have unlimited visiting privileges. Friends and other family members may visit with permission of the parents from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Psychiatric Unit
Monday - Friday  6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday 1 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Lounges
Available on each patient floor, you are invited to use the lounge as a quiet place to read or to visit. In the Psychiatry Unit, visitors must remain in the living and dining room area.
