A Range of Diagnostic and Treatment Options The Eye Center at Bryn Mawr Hospital was established in 1983 with the availability of Fluoresceinangiography and an Argon
Laser to diagnose and treat retina diseases. Today we have two different lasers available for additional treatment of glaucoma,
capsulotomies (Following cataract surgery) and retina-vitreous complications. Cryosurgery (freezing) is available for the
treatment of peripheral retina holes and small retinal detachments. The Eye Center's board-certified ophtalmologists specialize in treating a wide variety of eye conditions including: glaucoma,
cataracts, retina and cornea diseases.
Diagnostic tests include computerized digital video IV-Fluoresceinangiography utilizing intravenous contrast dye to detect
retina problems. A computerized perimeter is used for the evaluation of the visual field in glaucoma and neurologic eye problems.
Other instruments are available for corneal evaluations and to analyze optic nerve head anomalies as seen in glaucoma.
The Eye Center suite is located on the Ground Floor of the Medical Building North next to the Outpatient Surgical Center.
Appointments can be arranged through a referral from your eye doctor by calling (610) 645-2518 or (610) 526-3422.
