Departments & Divisions Bryn Mawr Hospital Department of Pediatrics 2004 "Great Docs For Kids" Named!!! Neonatology The Neonatal Intensive Care Units provide all levels of care provided from acute care to premature and/or ill newborns. There is a Level III (highest level) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) staffed by full-time, on-site neonatal-perinatal medicine subspecialists and specially-trained neonatal nurse practitioners, at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Respiratory, physical and occupational therapists also participate in the care of babies in the NICU. This division provides consultation to members of the obstetrical, perinatal and pediatric staffs, and provides a Neonatal Transport Service to area hospitals without their own NICU. Ongoing neurodevelopmental follow-up of high-risk NICU graduates is also provided by the members of the division, as part of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Follow-up Program.
