Ambulatory Surgery Unit

 At Lankenau, same-day surgery patients have their surgery in the main Operating Rooms, but are housed on a separate Ambulatory Surgery Unit. Under normal circumstances,
a patient is discharged from the hospital within a few hours of undergoing a procedure in the ASU. Lankenau Hospital conducts
a variety of outpatient surgeries in the ASU, including cataract surgery and some laparoscopic surgeries, and provides the
comfort of a full service hospital as backup if needed.
