Through referral from a patient's personal physician, hematologists and medical oncologists at Lankenau Hospital work closely with a wide variety of medical, radiation and surgical specialists in a multidisciplinary team approach to cancer diagnoses. Test results, diagnoses and surgical outcomes are routinely reported to the referring physician. Evaluations and treatment, including cancer chemotherapy and radiation, are carried out in well-equipped, comprehensive facilities by compassionate staff. Supportive care provided includes blood transfusions, pain management and close collaboration with social services, home care and hospice organizations.
