Kidney Transplant Program A Message from the System Chief Welcome to the Lankenau Kidney Transplant Programby Francisco Badosa, MD, FACS At the Lankenau Kidney Transplant program we offer a very personal level of care that makes a real difference in the lives of our patients. Here, we provide the best of two worlds in terms of individualized attention and specialty expertise. As the director, I am directly responsible for each patient’s care. Our transplant nephrologist works with me in helping patients through each aspect of the transplant process, from pre-transplant evaluation, through surgery and the hospital stay, to postoperative care and outpatient management. Lankenau kidney transplant patients also receive the benefit of a support staff of nurses and counselors whose sole focus is the care of our transplant patients and their donors. Most importantly, our commitment to personal attention assures a continuity of care and uniform criteria that translate into excellent clinical results and superior patient satisfaction. In fact, for the past five years, our one-year patient and graft survival rates have been consistently above the national average. At Lankenau, we are committed to the continual expansion of our expertise and capabilities in kidney transplantation. As we grow, we are equally committed to maintaining our tradition of individualized care for each patient who entrusts us with his or her health and well-being. Sincerely, Francisco Badosa MD, FACS
