Becoming pregnant again after the loss of a baby is an experience that can be full of both joy and anxiety. If you’ve lost a baby to a miscarriage, stillbirth or early infant death, it may be difficult for you and your family to deal with the mix of emotions that comes with a new pregnancy.

Lankenau Hospital helps moms and dads dealing with these mixed emotions through a special monthly support group led by Gerri Wismer, RN, NCBF. The support group is offered free of charge.

Through the support group, moms, dads and couples can:

• Share concerns with others
• Learn how to cope with unresolved grief
• Find ways to cherish memories of their lost infant, while anticipating the joys of the new child on the way
• Get tips on how to handle birth announcements and other practical matters
• Learn how to respond to questions and comments made by friends and family members
