For individuals with psychiatric and emotional disorders who do not require 24-hour inpatient care, American Day Treatment Center is a cost-effective option. Although it is a day program, American Day provides the structure and intensity that is typical of an inpatient program. The Center's treatment team is led by a board-certified psychiatrist and provides a multi-faceted therapeutic experience on a daily basis.
American Day provides structured, individualized, clinically intensive partial hospitalization programs (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for individuals 14 years and above with psychiatric and emotional disorders. The group therapy programs are designed to serve those who need the structure and intensity found in inpatient psychiatric programs but who do not require 24-hour inpatient care.
Each center's office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The PHP programs operates from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., five days per week. The IOP programs operate mornings, afternoons and evenings, 4 days weekly. Roundtrip van transportation is available for the partial hospitalization programs.
Generally, an evaluation will be scheduled within 72 hours of the referral and the admission may occur promptly, if indicated. At admission, a series of clinical assessments will be conducted in order to identify specific needs upon which the individualized treatment plan will be based. Length of stay varies based on the individual's needs.
The Medical Director, who is a Board Certified Psychiatrist leads the treatment team. The team may include Licensed Therapists, Psychiatric Nurses, Activities/Recreational Therapists, Educational Coordinators, and Mental Health Technicians who combine their skills to provide an intensive, daily, therapeutic experience.
Referrals for an evaluation and admission can be made by calling 1-888-CARE-898. Treatment at American Day is covered by most insurance plans. The staff will provide specific information about reimbursement issues, and transportation if applicable.
